When Timothy Powell became involved in consulting over 30 years ago, he had a couple "ah ha" moments. When Tim was working for Blue Cross of California auditing Medicare cost reports, his first training came in the form of manually filling out a cost report using a pencil and a ten key calculator, he said to himself there must be a better way. He got permission to buy one personal computer for Blue Cross. He took the cost report for a large "Home Office" cost report that took a team of auditors two months every year to revise and loaded it onto the newly invented spread sheet software. The result was that the report could now be done by one person in hours rather than a team in a period of months. This was his first "ah ha" moment-technology had power. His next "ah-ha" moment came long before the current "six-sigma" programs and boiled down to the asking the basic question of every thing he worked on-is there a better way to do this? Let us bring this message to your business.
